Presented as a recurring gathering, the work treats sound as both material and method—exploring how listening shapes space, memory, and social relation. Each iteration functions as a provisional “issue,” drawing from sound studies, Black and Afro-diasporic creative traditions, and community-based research.
Rather than a fixed exhibition, Issued Nights unfolds over time. Audio, text, and conversation are activated in real space, recorded, and archived—allowing the work to remain in motion. The installation evolves through participation, attention, and repetition, emphasizing process over conclusion.
Issued Nights positions listening not as consumption, but as a collective practice.
